TAKE A HANDFUL of Trainspotting-era Danny Boyle, a dash of Tarantino's Pulp Fiction pretensions, a pinch of Naked Gun buffoonery, a liberal slathering of Seinfeldian irony, put a gay twist on top, and voila! You've baked up 9 Dead Gay Guys.

Irish mates -- or "Paddies" as they call themselves -- Byron and Kenny are living on the dole in London, always on the lookout on a way to score the next fiver to put down towards another bottle of Black Death vodka. Byron's found a steady income as a blowjob provider. When Kenny ends up on the same career path, Byron is shocked by the verve with which Kenny applies himself to the job.

When local slut about town The Queen is found dead -- murdered by a cattle prod -- Byron and Kenny end up on the trail of a mattress full of money. Not to mention a trail of dead gay men.

With Pakistani cabdrivers, orthodox Jews, a deluded dwarf and a trio of West African rent boys pimped by a bull dyke, 9 Dead Gay Gays is meant to be non-P.C. stereotyping humor (kind of like NBC's new Whoopi). Unfortunately, the movie thinks it's funnier than it actually is (again, kind of like Whoopi). A chuckle here and a giggle there add up to nothing much.
