Moving to Fairfax from Maine when he was 11, William had a hard time adjusting. Eventually, however, he stopped adapting and started making changes – like the gay-straight alliance he started in high school. And it says something for metro D.C. that after high school, he tried on L.A. for size and even did some time at the Maine College of Art, yet still found his way back. ''For fun, I'll go hiking in Shenandoah with my friends," says the 26-year-old. "I think I'll be around for a while. I like the area.'' He's also got that manager's job at CVS and a boyfriend of three years to keep him grounded. When he wants to let loose, the only club for William is Town, where he once worked.
