Despite the slushy weather, members of the GLBT community gathered last Thursday, Feb. 24, at Welcome Home, an open house for the new 14th Street office space shared by The Center, Metro D.C. PFLAG and Brother, Help Thyself. With light snacks courtesy Hamburger Mary’s and plenty of art to occupy the senses (including some stunning pieces by Scott Brooks, John Borstel and Tim Tate), the crowd of more than two hundred forgot all about the inclement weather and relaxed, as they ambled through the space. Bill Cappello accepted an award for the D.C. Eagle in special recognition for the bar’s longtime service to BHT. The night ended as Center president Michael Sessa christened the space with a champagne toast.
