Former gay DC stripper, Craig Seymour, bares all again [video]

Craig Seymour: All I Could Bare

”Let’s put it this way, every feeling that I ever experienced working as a stripper, I’ve felt the same emotion in almost every other work place. There were times when I felt taken advantage of as a stripper and also when I’ve had other jobs. There were times when I felt exploited and sexually harassed at strip clubs and there have been times when I’ve felt harassed at other jobs…. Working at a strip club, you are almost like a therapist at times. People come to the strip clubs to relax and get rid of their worries and I guess, maybe to feel special for a couple of moments. To be able to give that to somebody, I thought it was kind of cool most of the time.”

”I went into stripping for all the wrong reasons. I went into it because I actually thought it would help me make peace around the issues I had with body image. That’s the worst thing you can ever do because you’re never gonna feel comfortable with something you’re putting out in front of you for people to barter on.”

Author and former Washington, DC strip club dancer Craig Seymour as quoted in the Washington Post.
