Are Houston, TX police intent on revenge for election of gay Mayor Annise Parker? [video]

”If somebody has to go around a puddle to walk in the street and wound up in jail there are several things there beyond the call of duty…. Part of that is transition from one regime to another. The rest of it is just angry bullies that, they lost an election that we won.”

Ray Hill, described by KVUE as a gay activists, expressing complaints about the behavior of police in the Montrose area. Mr. Hill is referring to the case of Steven Bowen, who says he was taken in by police who “sometimes think they can get away with whatever they want. The report says that some residents have complained about similar incidents since February. And there is some speculation that the catalyst for such behavior was the election of Annise Parker, an out lesbian who was recently elected Mayor. It is said that the police department had backed another candidate. (KVUE)
