Lady Gaga celebrates DADT repeal in Senate

”Can’t hold back the tears+pride. We did it!i Our voice was heard + today the Senate REPEALED DADT. A triumph for equality after 17 YEARS.”

Lady Gaga, the 24-year-old pop superstar who was one of the most visible celebrity voices to call for repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell … in her very own, special way. Today the Senate voted 65-31 to do away with the Clinton-era policy of military discrimination. (Lady Gaga via Facebook)

In September, she made a video appealing to Congress, appeared with members of SLDN at the MTV awards ceremony, and headlined a rally in Maine calling for repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
