Maura O’Connell at The Birchmere
Irish singer Maura O’Connell got her start as vocalist for the traditional Celtic group De Dannan, but now as a solo artist, she offers contemporary, American country-influenced interpretations of Irish folk songs. Her most recent album, 2009’s Grammy-nominated Naked With Friends, was her first all a cappella set, with guest vocalists including Moya Brennan, Jerry Douglas, Alison Krauss, Tim O’Brien, Dolly Parton and Darrell Scott.
