TV station outs gay men in India: Broadcasts dating website photos, names, recordings [video]

A report from NDTV tells of an “investigative report” by TV9, a station in Hyderabad, India, which outed “at least 4” gay men. (NDTV)

The salacious news report appears to have used the contents of a dating website to talk negatively about gay culture. Names and photos of its members were shown. They also broadcast intimate phone conversations which the TV9 reporter had shared with the men (recorded without their knowledge).

NDTV says one of the young men attempted suicide after seeing his information on air with his parents. As noted by the NDTV reporter, homosexuality is no longer a crime in India.
