Thailand’s army reclassifies M2F transgenders; may need to accept ‘men with breast implants’

Normally only Type 1 [men whose appearances are typical of men] are required to draw a conscription ballot…. But if the number of Type 1 is insufficient, Type 2 will be conscripted as well, despite their female-like breasts.

Thaksin Chiamthong, director of the academic resources division of Thailand’s Army Reserve Command, telling the Bankok Post that transgender individuals will not be exempt due to “psychological abnormality” or “gender identity disorder.” Instead a 3-tiered identification system has been put into place. Type 3 is transgender women who have had a full sex change. (Bangkok Press)
