Kevin Rogers, a gay man who reportedly attended a controversial stand-up performance by comedian Tracy Morgan, accepted Morgan’s apology as “very genuine.” Morgan returned to Nashville to appear with Rogers and a representative from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. Morgan said he didn’t mean what he said (AP via YouTube):
“I have an opportunity to change my message on stage. At this point in my life, it’s an opportunity to make a difference. And I don’t really see gay or straight –I just see human beings now…. I hurt people with this. So, from the bottom of my heart, I apologize to everybody who are offended with my words on stage, in Nashville and anywhere else, I just apologize to you.”
