Kimpton’s Urbana Restaurant & Wine Bar at the Palomar Washington DC and its sister hotel the Palomar Arlington have announced they will be hosting special fund raising events for local HIV/AIDS services on Weds., Nov. 30, 2011.
Urbana will host Kimpton’s Red Hot Nights in the Nation’s Capital, a cocktail party benefiting Whitman-Walker Health. Guests can enjoy complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres inspired by dishes from Chef John Critchley’s newly launched late fall menu at Urbana, the evening’s signature “Red Ribbon Cocktail,” the popular Spiced Cosmo, and a live/silent auction including a weekend getaway to Palomar San Diego and two roundtrip jetBlue tickets. A $10 admission fee includes one drink ticket and all proceeds benefit Whitman-Walker Health. Additional drink tickets can be purchased for $5 each. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Palomar Arlington will host A Tast of Virginia’s Own, a Virginia wine tasting event benefiting the Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry (NOVAM). Guests are invited to enjoy hors d’ oeuvres while sampling varietals from top Virginia winemakers, including Annefield Vineyards, Barboursville Vineyards, Fabbioli Cellars, Horton Vineyards, Paradise Springs Winery, and Tarara Winery. Additionally, a raffle for a weekend stay at Vintage Park, a Kimpton Hotel in Seattle and two roundtrip jetBlue tickets will be held. Admission is $30 per person in advance and $35 at the door. Both events are part of Kimpton’s nationwide Red Ribbon Campaign, a national initiative dedicated to raising funds and awareness for HIV/AIDS. For over 20 years, the company has assisted HIV service organizations through employee volunteerism, corporate donations, and raising funds through special events. In 2010, our Red Ribbon Campaign raised $150,000 for local HIV charities. As part of the annual campaign, Kimpton guest can Use Rate Code RRC when booking a reservation to receive a 15% discount and have a $10 per night donation made by Kimpton to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
