Bare: A Pop Opera at AU

American University’s theater program offers a production of Bare: A Pop Opera, a musical about two closeted gay roommates at a Catholic boarding school who carry on a clandestine relationship until it spirals out of their control. The off-Broadway musical by Jon Hartmere and Damon Intrabartolo touches on themes of love, identity and suicide, and American University has organized post-show panel discussions about faith and sexuality after the two Saturday matinee performances. Opens Thursday, Feb. 23, through Saturday, Feb. 25, and Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3, at 8 p.m. Also Saturday, Feb. 25, and Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m. Studio Theatre, Katzen Arts Center at American University. 4400 Massachusetts Ave. NW.
