It’s not conventional by any means — then again, Rocky Horror never is — but the Gay Men’s Chorus has gone in a somewhat different direction for their personification of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in their upcoming all-male production of The Rocky Horror Show, March 16-18 at Lisner Auditorium. With the pearls offset by leather, it’s quite a fetching look, actually, a bit more drag-queen intensified than what we’re used to seeing in the role, but, if appearances are any indication, Josh Bennett’s interpretation will rose tint our world. And we did a double-take on that Janet, dammit. He’s quite a convincing she. Watch for an interview with Rocky‘s director Craig Cipollini in this week’s Metro Weekly. Meanwhile, feast your eyes on this, and check out our recent article on 13 Camp Films Everyone Should See, in which The Rocky Horror Picture Show topped the list. And when we say top, we mean first, not… oh, nevermind. Tickets are $20 to $50. Call 202-293-1548 or visit gmcw.org.
