In Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, Ewan McGregor stars as a British fisheries expert who helps bring the sport of fly-fishing to the Arabian desert. That’s the actual plot of this “inspirational comedy,” also starring Emily Blunt, Amr Waked and Kristin Scott Thomas. It’s from the screenwriter of Slumdog Millionaire, and Lasse Hallstrom, the director of Cider House Rules, so it just might not be as bad as it sounds.
