Richmond Triangle Players plans exciting 20th anniversary season
Two big musicals, a comedy by one of its most-produced playwrights, an entry in the city-wide Acts of Faith festival and two provocative dramas – all but one Virginia premieres – are featured in Richmond Triangle Players’ 2012-13 season, which marks the company’s 20th Anniversary.
The 2012-13 season includes:
- Regrets Only by Paul Rudnick: Sept. 19 to Oct. 13, 2012

Howard Crabtree’s Whoop-Dee-Doo!: Nov. 14 to Dec. 29, 2012

Before It Hits Home by Cheryl West (a co-production with Sycamore Rouge): Jan. 16 to Feb. 2, 2013

The Busy World is Hushed by Keith Bunin (presented as a part of the city-wide Acts of Faith Festival): Feb. 20 to March 16, 2013

The Pride by Alexi Kaye Campbell: April 3 to 27, 2013

La Cage Aux Folles by Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Herman: May 15 to June 29, 2013
The 2012-13 season productions will begin on Weds., Sept. 19, 2012, and season subscriptions are on sale by mail now and available online beginning in May. Prices range from $110-$130 for the full six-play season, with mini-packages of three plays available beginning at $55. Individual tickets will go on sale four weeks prior to each opening night. Prices for individual tickets will range from $15-$28.
It addition to its season of plays, the Players has planned several special events to mark the occasion, beginning with a 20th Anniversary Gala on Sat., Sept. 15 at the legendary Hippodrome Theater.
The Players is the only professional theater company in the entire Mid-Atlantic region whose mission is to present works of relevance to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
The final production of the Players’ 2011-12 season, The Musical of Musical (The Musical!) will open on Thurs., May 10, after a low-priced preview on May 9. In this hilarious satire of musical theater, one story becomes five delightful musicals, each written in the distinctive style of a different master of the form – including Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, and Kander and Ebb.
