Capital Pride Parade 2012 [video]

Metro Weekly captures all the fun and fabulous angles of D.C.'s parade for the gay, lesbian, bi & trans community

Thousands of people lined the streets of Washington, D. C. on Saturday, June 9, to see the spectacle of the 2012 Capital Pride Parade.

Stepping off on P Street, winding through Dupont Circle and 17th Street, then finishing on 14th Street, the parade drew huge numbers of LGBT people, organizations and businesses to march — on foot and on float — as well as plenty of LGBT allies.

Metro Weekly’s videographers Todd Franson, Alex Pacheco, David Uy and Aram Vartian caught it all — see the excitement here, set to Deborah Cox’s electric performance from the Sunday Pride Festival.

Read more about Pride and the winning Parade contingents, and hear some of the fabulous performances from the Festival stage: Deborah Cox, Crystal Waters, Pepper Mashay, DC Cowboys.
