Technically, the headliners at the Eighteenth Street Lounge this Saturday, July 14, are popular local straight DJs Thomas Blondet in the Main Room and Will Eastman in the Gold Room. But for gay clubbers, Eastman’s cohort is the real draw. DJ Kostas, of course, was the weekly star attraction at Mark Lee’s storied old Sunday night gay party Lizard Lounge, where he became known for his style, which you might call gay club-lite — an always-tasteful, steadied mix of deep bass lines and happy house. Since then, the Greek-born DJ has played a few gigs around town here and there, including most recently a stop at Eastman’s U Street Music Hall a few weeks ago. Here’s hoping this is the start of even more to come. Saturday, July 14. Doors at 9:30 p.m. Eighteenth Street Lounge, 1212 18th St. NW. Cover is $10 after 12 a.m. Call 202-466-3922 or visit eighteenthstreetlounge.com.
