Michael Sam could become first openly gay NFL player

— Michael Sam, defensive lineman for the Missouri Tigers, in an interview with ESPN. Named the Associated Press’ “SEC Defensive Player of the Year,” Sam is eligible for the NFL draft in May, and, if selected, could become the sport’s first openly gay player.
