Perry compared homosexuality to alcoholism
— Ellen Page‘s reaction to Governor Rick Perry, who, while addressing the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco Wednesday, compared homosexuality to alcoholism. “I may have the genetic coding that I’m inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way,” Perry told the audience. Page, who came out at an HRC event earlier this year, vented her disbelief on Twitter:
