Pride wins BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by Screenwriter

Stephen Beresford, screenwriter of Pride, accepting the 2015 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Award for Outstanding debut by a British writer, director or producer. The award was shared with producer David Livingstone.

Pride tells the true story of how a group of gay and lesbian activist, in 1984, helped raise money for a striking Welsh miners, forging a relationship between the unlikely groups that greatly helped advance the LGBT movement in the U.K.
