–Sandy Rios, director of governmental affairs for the American Family Association and Fox News contributor, speaking at a conference titled “U-Turn: A Conversation with Pastors on Society, Culture and Leadership” that was organized by the Pennsylvania Pastors Network, Right Wing Watch reports.
“There is persecution afoot,” Rios said. Marriage equality and anti-discrimination laws would harm “your wives, your sisters, your children,” eventually leading to them being “forced to go into public restrooms and share them with men dressed like women,” according to Rios. “In Massachusetts, where homosexual marriage has been legal for ten years,” she said, “the stories would make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.”
Rios declined to expand on what those stories were — we assume they mostly involved same-sex couples happily marrying and the rest of society getting on as normal.
