–Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson (R.), speaking at a press conference today. Hutchinson has dialed back his support for a “religious freedom” bill, which passed through both houses of the state’s legislature and awaits his signature. He will ask lawmakers to rewrite the bill to bring it more in line with the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Buzzfeed reports.

“The issue has become divisive because our nation remains split on how to balance the diversity of our culture with the traditions and firmly held religious convictions,” Hutchison continued. “It has divided families, and there is clearly a generational gap on this issue.”
