Trade, the city’s newest “gay dive bar,” opens tonight!
Time to get your drink on, everyone! Trade, the newest nightspot from John Guggenmos, Chachi Boyle and Ed Bailey, officially opens tonight, Monday, Dec. 7.
Billed as a “gay dive bar,” Trade marks the third concurrently open bar for the successful trio, whose local nightlife properties include Town Danceboutique and Number Nine.
Located at 1410 14th St. NW, on the ground floor, Trade will be open starting at 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, and at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The bar will feature insanely huge Happy Hours (5 to 10 p.m. on Monday through Fridays and 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays), during which time any drink normally served in a cocktail glass will be proffered in a HUGE glass for the same price, with all beer and wine hitting a sweet spot of only $4.
Trade had a practice run over the weekend and Metro Weekly’s Todd Franson was there to give us a first look at D.C.’s newest gay nightspot.
