There are predictions that the winter storm on Friday and Saturday will drop more than a foot — and perhaps even more than two feet — of snow across the D.C. area. In response to this potentially record-breaking event, bars and restaurants are rolling out specials on food and booze:

The D.C. area’s first Balkan restaurant,Ambar, at 523 8th St. SE, will be offering its Sumadija hot Tea made with plum rakia, Becherovka liqueur, caramelized sugar, garnished with a cinnamon stick for just $5. The traditional Serbian hot drink is normally priced at $10. It will be available all day Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23.

On Friday, JR.’s will open early at 1 p.m. and is offering $1 off all drinks until 4 p.m. when its regular buy 1 get 1 free happy hour happy hour begins. If the snow continues into Saturday, Joe’s will offer cocktail hour all day, as well.
City Tap House, at 901 9th St. NW, is serving up a few specials to help comfort you from the snow outside, including cookie dough served in a warm skillet and hot mulled cider spiked with Captain Morgan Rum for $7 each. Both items will be available Friday, Jan. 22 thru Sunday, Jan. 24.
