–Former RuPaul’s Drag Race star Kenya Michaels, who was performing at Pulse nightclub in Orlando on Saturday night.
The Puerto Rican drag star was appearing at Pulse’s Latin night. Of the 49 people killed, Zoe Colon of the Hispanic Federation noted that “about 90% of the victims were Hispanic, mostly of Puerto Rican background.”
Michaels shared a photo on her Instagram of her last performance. Moments later, Omar Mateen opened fire on the crowd. Michaels hid when the shooting started and was later able to escape the club.
“How to forget that night,” Michaels wrote on her Instagram. “Just minutes before the shooting. My last performance to all my best friend that were in the front row, now all of them are gone.”
“My heart is broke,” she continued. “They took everything from me.”
TMZ obtained Snapchat videos from the night, which showed a busy club, filled with dancing, drinking and fun. It’s a tragic contrast with the scenes that would later follow.
