Lady Gaga has been relatively quiet on the music front lately due to her involvement in various projects, including her upcoming Joker sequel and her growing makeup brand Haus Labs. Thankfully, now fans can rejoice as she not only has new music on the horizon but also a highly anticipated film that is expected to become an instant favorite among her dedicated followers.

In a recent Instagram post, Gaga surprised her fans by announcing the existence of a film centered around her most recent tour, The Chromatica Ball. Alongside a simple picture of herself, she shared a heartfelt message discussing her creative endeavors and recent activities. To the surprise of many, she revealed that she’s been working on this film, which had never been previously mentioned.

Underneath the photo, Gaga listed all the projects she has been diligently working on. Among them, she casually mentioned the movie, stating, “I wrote and produced music for a special project, I prepared for months developing my character for Joker, I filmed Joker for many months (a very introspective time), I have been running my start-up Haus Labs, doing philanthropic work, and additionally have been working on The Chromatica Ball film edit.” Although it seems like the movie is the last in line in terms of importance, Gaga’s commitment to excellence suggests that she is dedicating substantial time and effort to ensure its quality.

Further emphasizing the film’s importance, Gaga included another reference to the project in the same caption, saying “”Here’s a photo of my working on The Chromatica Ball film edit (that’s a frame from the film behind me)—I can’t WAIT for you to experience it.” While she didn’t provide extensive details, the mere confirmation of the film’s existence was enough to ignite excitement among her devoted Little Monsters.

Although fans are thrilled about Gaga’s movie based on The Chromatica Ball, numerous questions remain unanswered. It is reasonable to assume that the film will be a combination of a documentary and a concert film, a successful format adopted by many stars. Gaga’s previous documentary was released on Netflix; however, it is uncertain whether her new film will follow the same distribution route or if she has chosen an alternative platform. As her last documentary was released years ago, Gaga might explore different options this time around.

The Chromatica Ball was a highly anticipated tour that showcased Gaga’s latest pop album, Chromatica, during the summer of 2022. The tour was relatively short, consisting of only 20 shows. While she could have easily scheduled more performances, Gaga opted for a concise and impactful experience. The tour celebrated her 2020 dance/pop album of the same name, which produced chart-topping hits such as “Stupid Love” and the Grammy-winning collaboration with Ariana Grande, “Rain on Me.”
