–Pastor Rick Wiles, “citizen reporter” and host of TruNews, responding to a statement from Target spokeswoman Molly Snyder, affirming the company’s pro-transgender bathroom policy in its stores.
RightWingWatch caught Wiles’ comments, as he railed against letting transgender people choose which restroom they feel most comfortable using, equating it with Hitler’s rule in Nazi Germany.
“It’s either shut down Target or their type is going to shut down this nation,” he said, “because there’s no end to their insanity and their immorality and their wickedness.”
Target posted a statement affirming support for trans people, which has drawn both praise and criticism.
“In our stores, we demonstrate our commitment to an inclusive experience in many ways,” the statement read. “Most relevant for the conversations currently underway, we welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”
An Alabama city responded by passing a measure which would fine or jail any trans person caught using a public restroom that didn’t correspond with their birth gender. Ted Cruz added fuel to the fire, in another desperate attempt to garner votes, by making transphobic remarks involving Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
“Let me make this real, real simple for our folks in the media who find this conversation very confusing,” Cruz said. “If Donald Trump dresses up like Hillary Clinton, he still can’t go to the girl’s bathroom.”
