Tig Notaro is writing a new film for Netflix that will feature Jennifer Aniston as the first female President of the United States and Notaro as her wife and First Lady.
First Ladies, as it’s appropriately titled, will be co-written and produced by Notaro and Stephanie Allynne — Notaro’s real-life wife.
The political comedy stars Jennifer Aniston as President Beverly Nicholson, with Notaro as her wife Kasey. It follows the Nicholsons during the first days of their administration, as they move into the White House and Beverly prepares to run the country.
Netflix is promoting the show with the line “behind every great woman… is another great woman.”
First Ladies marks Notaro’s move from Amazon Prime Video, where she wrote and starred in comedy One Mississippi, to Netflix. In addition to “First Ladies,” Notaro’s stand-up special Happy To Be Here recently debuted on the streaming service.
Aniston, who stars in upcoming war drama The Yellow Birds, set for release in June, is also a producer on First Ladies, as is actor Will Ferrell.
First Ladies does not currently have a release date.
