Washington state expands rights for same-sex domestic partners

”This bill completes our work on domestic partnerships by making sure that we state clearly our intention to treat domestic partners in our state equally.”

Washington state Representative Jamie Pederson of Seattle on the legislature’s approval to expand the legal rights of gay and lesbian domestic partnerships. It’s reported that new pension benefits for public employees and other rights have been added to the already existing rights that have dealt with hospital visitation, inheritance and decisions on how survivors deal with the body of their departed partners.
