President Obama, Lady Gaga, Cast of ‘Glee’ to attend HRC Dinner in DC, Oct 10
”We are honored to share this night with President Obama, who has called upon our nation to embrace LGBT people as brothers and sisters… It is fitting that he will speak to our community on the night that we pay tribute to his friend and mentor Senator Edward Kennedy, who knew that as president, Barack Obama would take on the unfinished business of this nation – equal rights for the LGBT community, and for every person who believes in liberty and justice for all.”
Statement from Joe Solmonese, President of Human Rights Campaign, which has just announced that the line-up of speakers for their National Dinner will include: President Barack Obama, pop idol Lady Gaga, the cast of the television show ”Glee,” Judy and Dennis Shepard, and Broadway’s Gavin Creel. The formal affair and fundraiser has been sold out for some time as is indicated on the GLBT right organization’s website in big letters. The Dinner will occur this weekend, October 10, which is in conjunction with a number of other events including the Equality March, the 21st National Coming out Day, and the 11th year since the Shepard’s son, Matthew, was killed in Wyoming.
