Joe’s Movement Extravaganza Extraordinaire
Wednesday, Sept. 8, brings a hodgepodge of performances to the Maryland venue Joe’s Movement Emporium. Portland-based Underscore Orkestra plays a blend of original and traditional music, from Balkan to Klezmer to Swing, all the while sassy belly/contemporary dance artist Danielle Smith twists and turns. Also on tap: the Silk Road Dance Company and D.C.-area belly dancer Asala, with “a few special surprises of her own.” At 8 p.m. at Joe’s Movement Emporium, 3309 Bunker Hill Rd., Mount Rainier, Md.
