The 26th annual Kennedy Center Open House Arts Festival helps kick off the center’s 2010-2011 season and comes as part of its Celebrate Mexico 2010, commemorating the country’s 200 years of independence and 100 years since the 1910 revolution. More than 20 performances, demonstrations and events feature artists from the D.C. region and Mexico, including celebrated “diva” Eugenia Leon, rock band El Gran Silencio, Ballet Folklorico de la Universidad Veracruzana, Klezmer quartet Sherele and Mexican pianist Eugenio Toussaint with the National Symphony Orchestra.
