Laura Veirs at The Birchmere
In less than a year’s time Laura Veirs, a Portland, Ore.-based folk artist, has released a widely praised new album, July Flame — her seventh in only 11 years. And this spring she became a mother to a baby boy whose father is her producer and multi-instrumentalist. Expect her to be in invigorating spirits, singing, as one new track puts it, “Life Is Good Blues.” Friday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. The Birchmere, 3701 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria.
