Baltimore gang leader given life sentence for ordering murder of teen he thought was gay
”He was brutally murdered for something that wasn’t even true…. You chose to take his life…and you deserve what you get.”
Michelle Parrish, the mother of Steven Parrish, an 18-year-old who was brutally murdered in the Woodlawn section of Baltimore County. In August of 2008, two 17-year-old members of the Bloods gang carried out the murderous orders of their leader, Timothy Rawlings, who is now 24.
Despite Steven Parris’ mother’s statement, it has been reported that her son had been exchanging phone messages of a sexual nature with another man. At the time, Parrish had been affiliated with Rawlings gang.
Rawlings discovered the messages, and he ordered the killing of Parris to prevent some kind of appearance of weakness. Two of Parrish’s classmates from Randallstown High School, Steven Hollis and Juan Flythe, then stabbed, beat, and stomped on the head of Parrish near his family’s home. Both men pleaded guilty to first degree murder. (Baltimore Sun)
