Gay reporter gruesomely murdered in NYC by young reality TV model [video]

”We asked the front desk to call up to Carlos but he didn’t respond… We [saw Renato Seabra in the lobby and] asked him about Carlos, and he looked panicked. He never expected to see us in the lobby and he told us, ‘Carlos isn’t leaving the room,’ This answer surprised us and we told the hotel manager.”

Monica Pires, described by the New York Daily News as a friend of Portugese journalist and producer Carlos de Castro, 65. He was found dead at the InterContinental New York Times Square hotel shortly after Ms. Pires had a spotted Castro’s younger male companion, Renato Seabra. Seabra is described as a 20-year-old aspiring model who recently appeared on a reality TV show.

The Daily News is reporting that NYC police think Castro had accused Seabra of stealing cash. And in response, Seabra allegedly punched and bludgeoned Castro in the head (possibly with a computer monitor), then mutilated his body. In one report, it says he used a broken wine glass to castrate Castro. (Other versions of this developing investigation say a corkscrew was involved.) Afterward, Seabra went to the hospital for wounds including (non-suicidal) cuts on his wrists. (NY Daily News) (NY Post)

Carlos Castro is described as a popular and successful reporter of celebrity and society news. He is also being called a gay rights activist/advocate.

“I’m not gay, I just do it for the money.”

A quote allegedly overheard during the argument between Seabra and Castro at the Times Square hotel. Some Portugese sources are reporting that Seabra may have been heterosexual and was using a relationship with Castro to purchase things and further his modeling career. (RTP.pt)
