Tourisme Montreal is accepting entries for its annual Queer of the Year 2011 contest, an annual competition to promote Montreal as a gay-friendly destination.
The contest is open to boys, girls and everyone in between from all over the world. QOTY is looking for queers with personality, talent, a healthy lifestyle, community spirit and sex appeal. Entries are being accepted through May 30.
The first step to entering the contest is to LIKE the QOTY Facebook page and answer a few questions. For the second step, a limited number of participants will be selected for interviews. After the interview round, five finalists will be named and asked to create a video about themselves. These videos will then be used to promote the contest, and the finalists will be flown to Montreal for an all-expenses paid week to compete for the QOTY title from August 7 to 15, 2011.
The QOTY winner will receive $5,000 (Canadian), plus flights and accommodation to return to Montreal for a weekend getaway after the competition. The four runner-up finalists will each receive $1,000 (Canadian).
