Chris Matthews was confronted recently by Faithful America group members about his decision to have Family Research Council president Tony Perkins appear on his show, MSNBC’s Hardball.
The Family Research Council has been designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks extremist activity in the country.
Told that having Perkins on his show gives legitimacy to anti-LGBT comments that he makes elsewhere, Matthews replied:
You may be right. I may agree with you.
