Halifax, the historic capital of Canada’s Nova Scotia province, is a quintessential Maritime city. It is also a very welcoming destination for gay travelers.
From July 20 to 29, Halifax Pride celebrates its 25th anniversary. The largest Pride festival in Atlantic Canada, it will boast close to 20 different events.
“This year we’ll be ‘Out Celebrating 25’,” exclaimed Krista Snow, chair of Halifax Pride. “It’s a landmark year, 25 years of Pride. We’ll be celebrating what we’ve built.”
Halifax Pride’s weeklong celebration includes a series of dance parties, a theatre festival, the annual ‘Dykes vs. Divas’ softball game, and an interfaith service.
The annual community fair and parade are among the week’s largest events and will be held on Sat., July 28.
