Gay crooner Rufus Wainwright appears on Tuesday at Wolf Trap for a concert in support of his new solo set, Out Of The Game, produced by Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse) to be poppier and more accessible than Wainwright’s previous sets. But it’s not Back to Black 2: Ronson’s work here, wrote Doug Rule wrote in his Metro Weekly review, is “steeped in the stoner ’70s, channeling the blander repertoire of Steely Dan or the softer side of Elton John.” Charming New York indie-pop singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson also performs. Tuesday, July 24, at 8 p.m. The Filene Center at Wolf Trap, 1551 Trap Road, Vienna. Tickets are $30 to $40. Call 877-WOLFTRAP or visit wolftrap.org.
