Swimming in money: Apple and Samsung release mobile sales figures

Money

And the sales numbers are out of the closet!

The patent trial between Apple and Samsung produced a treasure trove of sales figures for the mobile products of both companies. The Apple figures are staggering if unsurprising. Essentially, however, Apple has sold over 34 million iPads in the U.S., bringing in $19 billion of revenue. It has sold over 86 million iPhones in the U.S. since 2007, generating over $50 billion in revenue.

Samsung, meanwhile, has sold roughly 1.4 million Galaxy Tabs (the focus of the suit) with about $644 million in revenue. Since 2010, it’s sole 21.2 million units of the smartphones pertinent to the case, producing $7.5 billion in revenue.

Tech reporter nonpareil Ina Fried, now over at All Things D, has a terrific posting on the subject and even includes several charts. Read her report here.
