Youth Pride Festival Rescheduled Due to Weather
New date set to Saturday, April 29
Citing a weather forecast from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for substantial rain Saturday, April 22, the Youth Pride Alliance board members have decided to postpone Youth Pride Day till Saturday, April 29, says the event’s co-director Nikisha Carpenter.
”We are really bummed, because the ‘Infatuation’ dance is still going to happen tomorrow, but it’s great to have them combined,” Carpenter said Friday afternoon. ”At least we’re having the ‘alternate prom’ on the 29th, so there will still be a dance to go to right after Youth Pride Day.”
Further, Carpenter noted, Youth Pride Day founder Christopher Dyer will not be able to attend the event on the 29th, though that stage lineup will remain otherwise intact. Dyer will make a Youth Pride appearance at the ”Infatuation” dance, nevertheless, performing as his alter ego, Cookie Buffet.
