Terry's Turn
New E.D. in at PreventionWorks
PreventionWorks, a 10-year-old, local, nonprofit organization working in HIV-prevention and health advocacy, announced Nov. 13 that Philip Terry will be serve as the group’s new executive director.
Terry, who some locals may recognize as an occasional bartender at the D.C. Eagle, is a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified alcoholism and drug-addiction counselor. He also supervised care and mental-health services for first responders in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Terry has also served, most recently, as senior director for emergency and international services for the National Capital Area of the Red Cross.
