Gay travel association accused of unethical conduct
Just days after being elected to the board of the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association, Pablo De Luca [pictured] is being accused of intellectual property theft.
Ian Johnson, founder and principal consultant of Out Now Consulting, today posted a lengthy entry on his company’s blog outlining his allegations against De Luca as well as concerns that IGLTA has failed to uphold its own Professional Code of Conduct.
De Luca is director of GNETWORK360 and president of the Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce of Argentina. IGLTA is a member-based organization dedicated to LGBT tourism.
Attempts to reach De Luca for comment were unsuccessful. IGLTA’s president and CEO John Tanzella was traveling and unavailable for comment as well.
While not specifically addressing the merits of Johnson’s accusations, Steve Smith, a board member of IGLTA, stated, “Issues like this can certain have an effect on an organization. Our members need to have confidence in our work and leadership.”
